Susan Miller
Susan Miller Therapy is a center for psychotherapy and life coaching with a focus on integrative psychotherapy. Life-coaching is also available for clients looking to meet significant personal or career goals. Integrative psychotherapy is a flexible approach of blending elements from different schools of psychotherapy used to treat a client. The biggest benefit of this approach is that we have the greatest number of tools available. With 22+ years as a licensed physical therapist, Susan knows the intimate connection between the mind and body. Mental/emotional health and physical health are interconnected, improving one improves the other. For example, the idea that nutrition and exercise can benefit not only your body, but also your mind. Susan Miller can provide expertise in both areas.
How may I help you?
Whether you are coping with life transitions, grief and loss of a loved one (including pets), anxiety or depression, trauma, or difficulties with a relationship, I have the experience to help you
Life Transitions
We go through many transitions throughout our lives, and psychotherapy can make each one more satisfying and less stressful. Whether it’s starting a new career, divorce, retirement or an empty nest, there are many ways that psychotherapy can help.
Rehabilitation
A significant change in health status can result in significant emotional and mental stresses such as depression, identity crisis, grief and loss. My experience with both physical rehabilitation and psychotherapy provide a holistic approach to coping with these changes.
Relationships
Our relationships enrich our lives but when communication breaks down and unmet and unvoiced expectations create anger and disappoint, couples therapy can provide a safe place to learn how to communicate effectively and gain an understanding of where our relationship expectations come from.
Work With Me
Some therapists limit their approach to a single school of thought, which leaves fewer options for treatment. It makes more sense to use a wholistic approach when we are trying to make changes in our lives. You are, after all, a whole being! Every client is unique and we will create a personalized plan. For example, we may use a combination of meditation, visual imagery, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Many people wait until a big event or trauma hits their lives. In reality, everyone needs healing and help reaching their goals throughout their lives. Even when things seem ordinary. Whether your problems or goals seem big or small, we can help you lead a fulfilled life.
Psychotherapy and life coaching can be done via Zoom or email! Also available to meet up if you are in the Austin TX area.
